Big La Laguna wlaking distance away is further from the action and has one of the nicest beaches and is within walking distance of Sabangs bars and restaurants.

Anyway, for travel tips, just bring lots of sunblock, shoes or slippers that could get wet, and insect-repellant. Saves up on the rentals. That island on the right side of the photo? Dolarog is great, especially if your family is taking this trip just to have some rest and relaxation, peace and quiet, and want to see really pretty views and have amazing nature-tripping opportunities.
I have the number of someone based in El Nido who can do this for you. You can still do the same things and activities, such as island-hopping, kayaking, snorkelling, etc.
The boat ride to El Nido from Sabang takes awhile, around 5 to 7 hours, depending on wind and weather conditions. You know, it might be nice to stay one night in town and another night in Dolarog The plus about staying in the poblacion, besides huge savings on the budget, is that you get a glimpse of the local way of life and meet local people.
Oh and yes, bring lots of film or a huge memory card! You can also fly there from Puerto Princesa, though this could be expensive The resort itself is carpeted all over with the greenest grass, and it has a great view of Pinagbuyutan island not sure if this is the correct name and the rest of the the Bay.
What Puerto Galera does have is one of the most beautiful bays in the world and a mountainous backdrop.

The rates there might not be updated though so give room for possible adjustments. Sabang is a mainly for those wanting to scubadive so plenty of snorkeling places nearby but and the big but is that there are 5 girlies bars and the sight of year old girls with year old men wandering round town hand in hand puts a lot of people off.
There are also more restaurants to choose from, and better access to souvenir and grocery shopping should you need it. There are lots of cheaper beachside or otherwise cottages available where average rates for rooms would be about a night, good for two, for fan roomsthough nowhere half as nice as Dolarog.
