The banquet scene, apart from showing the guilt that Macbeth carries with him presents once again that Lady Macbeth is very alert and knows how to draw attention away from Macbeth, who fears the ghost of Banquo. To create such a character requires an unparalleled plot and great writing skill. Whether she was bluffing, the imagery that Macbeth would have had in his mind at this point would have been frightening.
However he still retains some of his original traits. Although Macbeth has committed monstrous deeds, he is not a monster. Man as shown in the work of Shakespeare was someone who has a weak will that could easily be moved by jealousy and other similar emotions that might make him higher or stronger than the others.
She speaks of how he has enough ambition but not enough courage. It presents us with an irony. Macbeth was a general, a thane.
She challenges his love for her and says that she would rather "dash the brains out" of her own child than break such a promise as Macbeth has to her.
She knows that he is too weak to do anything and states her position in the murder "leave the rest to me". She then kills herself unable to remove the "damned spot".
He wishes for a normal life for which he would have lived to an honorable age but he recognizes that he has denied himself of this. It seems then that there is no clear distinction if an action should be seen as something that is really fair or foul since one may lead to the other and vice versa.
Lady Macbeth has to clean up what he has done wrong and has to return the daggers herself. From this source it is proven how brave and courageous Macbeth is.
Nevertheless, since the vision of being a king and having all the power in their mind seemed attractive, they later decided that the king must really die. Macbeth is bewildered, will he be able to trade his soul in the next life for kingship in this one.
The fact that Macbeth wanted the witches to stay puts into question his loyalty to sovereign. A title is not a trifle for a reward, which proves that Macbeth is a sublime character loved by all. Macbeth was not originally a murderer, but he was bound to become one eventually.
When Macbeth and Lady Macbeth speak, they speak to eachother with such closeness and bond; he calls her his "dearest chuck", his "partner of greatness". He does not specifically tell her what is to be done but just hints that a "deed is to be done". Lady Macbeth is s major influence on Macbeth, but this of course changes later.

This prophecy was given to him at the beginning of the story. Macbeth is merely mentioned by the witches at the start of the play. However not everyone is perfect, even Macbeth has some deep forgotten desire that will eventually come to surface through catalysts in the plot, and will led him to his pitiful demise.

It seems to portray that no evil could withstand goodness and justice after all. It is the story of a man who goes against his conscience and commits a horrible deed which leads to his destruction and loss of everything he has around him.
Banquo realizes that there must be a trick hidden in the witches prophecies somewhere but Macbeth refuses to accept that, and when Lady Macbeth finds out about the witches her strong desire for ambition and her cold nature leads Macbeth astray.
At this point in the play, Shakespeare re-confirms just how close the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth is and that she has the power and he listens to whatever she has to say. All of this reinforces his cold clinical attitude towards people and his morally corrupt attitude.
In Act 2, where they have murdered Duncan she states that "a little bit of water shall clear us of this deed" and yet during her sleepwalking she says "out damn spot, out" and tries so hard to remove the blood.
She goes to the extent of planning the murder of Duncan and assumes full responsibility of this. Over the course of the play Macbeth and Lady Macbeth greatly change with respect to their characters and their personalities.
It could also be seen in the story how Macbeth has constantly worried about his afterlife, which seemed to resemble his fear of the act that he was doing as he let his greed and ambition take over his life.Throughout the play we see the character of Macbeth change not from just the way he thinks and what we hear from the play, but from the actions he takes in the play, from killing Banquo, then having Lady Macduff and her children murdered, shows the insecurity that was present in Macbeth.
